The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 前半段的前情交代很沉稳，勾连老兵安置的现实问题，执行任务和角色行为细节拍得都还挺写实的（低调行事，效率至上，求生欲望），后半段大街上开始突突突就好莱坞化了，悬疑反转也是《美国狙击手》之类的都玩过的老路数，Mike被策反跟最后一场动作戏一样拍得粗糙又急躁，两主角在感情磁场和表演呈现上也远不如之前的《赴汤蹈火》

万万没想到男主居然是当年歌舞青春的小鲜肉！天呐！！全程烂脸妆，真是太惨了，突破自我咩这是。故事一般，本来决定留下来也不懂为啥，为了剧情，被队友阴也是正常的，是我我也阴他。只不过坏人最后还被射杀，黄雀在后啊~
男主最终被见死不救的同伴耗死，同伴也没有好下场，被女人的姐姐射穿心脏，拿不到黄金
神马烂玩应！编剧一点逻辑都不讲吗？所谓的惊悚就是最后那一箭吧……

前半段虽然节奏缓慢，整体开局很不错，陆战队员也会有人到中年的困境及对家庭的责任。

有模有样，但又似是而非。故事套路严重，动作场面设计中规中矩。最终的决战简直惨不忍睹。。。
同样是老兵被党国遗弃体裁，与《勇闯夺命岛》仍是差一大截，那可是差不多20年前的片子了。
