The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 中规中矩体育片，爱篮球的值得一看。伯乐与千里马的相遇拍得一般，分别倒是拍出感觉了，机场球员看着教练不见身影那段，使电影提升不少。但转折太快，就和全片一样，有很多剧作技巧上的安排，就是处理得较粗糙。

影片既真實再現了聯盟各種角色與人物的生存現狀，也直觀展示了球員的各種陋習，骯臟的小動作、對新人的霸淩、噴各種垃圾話，當作花絮來看依舊妙趣橫生又無比真實。它用一些小小的切入點，讓我們知道優秀的體育聯盟是如何運作的，有多少人在為之工作，而電影還只能非常簡略地表達，斯坦利是聯盟千千萬萬基層工作人員的縮影。印象最深的就是貫穿全片的那句「you against you」，我們永遠都是在和自己比，比自己更強才是真正的強大。
亚当桑德勒其实是配角，无奈男主不给力，除了纹身和腱子肉，演技完败。戏份都被桑德勒给抢了。
7分。可惜已经很长时间不关注NBA了，不然应该更好看。NBA球探在野球场遇到一个篮球天才，带回球队之后，却因为被挑衅后表现不好被球队高层抛弃。球探孤注一掷，自己想办法给球员铺路，最终入选NBA球队。没有一波三折，遇到的问题解决起来也很快，但就是很热血很好看。一个千里马与伯乐的故事。最好看的部分之一是，电影里有很多退役和现役NBA球星的客串，多到像下饺子一样，全片都是球星彩蛋。

亚当桑德勒的片子真的看个片名就知道套路，同理还有本斯蒂勒，反正就也差不到哪，也没有什么惊喜。特别热爱篮球的可以一看

原来男主就是给《精灵旅社》Dracula配音的搞笑天王Adam Sandler……如今，他联手LBJ一起当制片人，拉来联盟里面的各种熟脸大咖，演一则NBA球探伯乐相马的好故事。
亚当桑德勒本人比这部电影更励志，一把岁数了寻求转型突破，原钻没得奖就继续拍球探，可谓是中年人的明灯了……可惜这部片预计依然得不了奖，倒是看着还挺流畅，但是太工整了，四平八稳的套路，唯一的亮点是片尾师徒赛场见
因为阿伦·艾佛森，所以曾关注过76人队，也因此，对这部电影来了兴趣。与通常运动纪录片不同的是，这部电影的重点不在运动员，而在篮球作为商业运作对象之一时所呈现的林林总总。一方面，影片刻画了球探为了培养出自己的明日之星的努力，但另一方面，也表现了其商业面貌——球探可以毫无感情的出卖球员（影片最后）。所以，这项竞技运动，可不仅仅发生在场上而已。
没有强行鸡汤很好，打篮球就是为了搞钱，为了家庭为了自己。。。众多NBA演员都出镜挺好，没啥励志不励志的，毕竟电影名说明了主角是球探。。。
本身素质也就三星，NBA加1星！能把NBA球探挖掘全世界新秀+拉到美国培养的模式+一大堆现役球员和管理层参演+剧情还能反转2次以上，相当不错了（诶不对……男主现在真的在绿凯打球？！）
感觉这个片子主要表达的是体育里的脏话太多所以心态比天赋更重要 所以当年齐达内那个头锤是真的可以理解
吃东西买一堆只吃一口是想表现什么？没明白，觉得他家里挺穷，人也看起来很懂事，不应该这么浪费啊
