The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 最后，最后的表演很精彩。
事后大胆开麦：这个片子如果没有错过暑期档，票房也不会太好，不全是档期选错的原因，片子本身的改编方式也是有问题的。下了气力、做得认真，但一看就是在“套用公式”。而在改编本土化的过程里，把荷尔蒙的点削弱了、把少年要完成的责任感加重了，方向上就有些沉重和偏移。故事推进力又全是外部因素，反复绝境求生——公式全对、数字代入也全对，但电影不是给标答。

《五个扑水的少年》超级惊喜！
算不上翻拍吧，本土化挺多的，倒是挺像同人创作。最显著的特点是一气呵成，设计得很套路，但没走偏。难得。这类体育片难点是少年们中二气质与现实主义冲突的解决，好在除了众人腾出游泳池那段很生硬以外，导演处理得还行。几个角色有活力，《钢铁洪流进行曲》一出，秒变军旅片。居然是在扬州拍的……完全没看出来。
一部结构很完整、表演也很合格的国产青春片，人物行为动机蛮充分，热血的地方也不会让人犯尴尬症。不知道日版如何，但翻拍本土化得很成功，起码，不牙碜。
有哭有笑能调动情绪，节奏不错，算是不错的电影。为了缪纪君看的，近几年见过最帅的帅哥可能就是这些少年了。个人认为，所谓“爱情线”根本不是为了“市场”而设置的，缪纪君是特别耐看的女孩子，但她或许没有所谓的校花那么亮眼，实际上是给观众一个代入与帅哥校园恋爱的感觉。
能不能不要把什么都分析得那么透彻，保持热血就够了！
刚看完，想了很多安利的话，后来想想删了，这部电影怎么夸都不过分，有多久了，我没有看到过这样真挚朴实的国产青春电影，这大概是第一次，梦想、友谊、努力，却无鸡汤说教，五个孩子的拼搏，其实也并没有什么高大上的比赛，只是一场被取消的表演，就像队长张伟说的那句“不是一定要惊心动魄才叫辉煌”，平凡却不平淡！不是每个人都是学霸或学渣，多数是寂寂无名不上不下的模样，资质平平，也或许拼了命努力也不是为了获得什么样的结果，但这就是青春啊！平凡但足够真挚，想起来嘴角不自觉依旧有笑意，那个懵懵懂懂少年，是曾经的我们每一个人（国产青春电影不要滤镜！不要无痛呻吟或故作遗憾悔恨撒鸡汤！更加不要做作恶心的打胎爱情戏码！）（os：这些演员我第一次见到，最最自然淳朴的模样，不加雕饰，没有包装，青春最初青涩的样子，真好！）
好看！遗憾没能去电影院看。轻松感人，瑕不掩瑜。
全片最佳，“蝈蝈妈” “是蛐蛐” 哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈
出乎意料地好看，很青春很热血，而且既没有狗血恋爱，更没有人流堕胎。
虽然大部分时候的转折和推进都是有问题的，但是整体调性倒是对的，有个样子总比尬尬的强多了
我觉得还行吧，不过有两个点确实很土：学校会游泳的都来参加花样游泳，太戏剧化了，而且很土啊……后面结尾有点拉垮……太多阻碍堆叠在一起，就有点刻意。但我还蛮喜欢队长跟高飞谈话那段，整体而言还挺搞笑的，而且花样游挺不错的

节奏太差 ，起承转合尴尬无比，五个小伙没有让人感到一点点热血，再次说明大陆青春片无论爱情题材还是体育题材别说日本，和台湾都差太远太远，这不仅是导演能力问题，更或许是意识形态问题。
最后，最后的表演很精彩。
完成度上其实是没问题的，原版其实我也没那么觉得好，但是对比起来，改编失去了原版对lgbt的认同，对少年情感的认同，甚至对水族馆的教练都没有认同，最后的口号就像是一阵虚无的反抗，最后变成了一部中规中矩的国产青春片，而不是一部大家对少年美好的怀念的喜剧片了。这个改编就没有什么意义。两星半。
